GROWTH… My word for 2023!

My word for the year 2022 was ‘HOPE’…

I believed for ‘new life’ in every aspect of my being, because the prior 2 years felt so dark and heavy… as a result of the pandemic.

What I did not realize at the time was that:

  • HOPE + CONTROL (aka MY plan) = Oxymoron

They simply ‘don’t go’ together!

I mean, how does one allow HOPE to ‘do its thing’ if they have their own plan (CONTROL) for how they want things to unfold???

I mean, think about it!

So, my lesson from 2022 has been to learn how to do my part (the hard work), then let go (surrender) and let things unfold exactly as they’re supposed to…

  • and THAT is not the easiest thing to do!

In retrospect though, I’m thankful for ‘SURRENDER’, because even though it was never one of ‘my chosen words’, embracing it allowed me to HOPE, and as a result I got to witness change… change that happened to be in alignment with my expectation!

As 2022 draws to a close, I find myself grateful, content and at peace with every aspect of my life…personal and professional, which is new for me (new life)!

Were there challenges?

  • Absolutely yes!

But I learned that it is much easier to deal with said challenges when one isn’t holding on so tightly.

And so, I choose GROWTH as my word for 2023 with HOPE that it will manifest across all aspects of my life by next December 31st.

What about you?

  1. Beatiful, dear Emma!! My word for last year was “Steadfast”. Primarily with my journey with the Lord, as well as not giving up on my business, even when sales dwindled. The “steadfastness” with my Lord Jesus Christ, has been the most rewarding..every day I have been given, has just been awesome as I learn about and feel His immense Love for us!!
Still considering the word for 2023, though I know that I do need to “surrender” certain aspects of my life.
    Have a Blessed 2023!

    1. Awww, thank you so much dear Neysi. ‘Steadfast’ is/was a beautiful word. A bit like ‘Hope’ you know… Both are words that we could hold on to as we grow. I love your story btw. I myself am witness to a similar story 🙏🏽💕. By the way, ‘Surrender’ is a very challenging one but so beautiful once achieved. I wish you a super blessed New Year 2023 my friend and I would love to know what word you end up up choosing later on or if you decide to hold on to your word from last year. Lots of love, Emma 🫂💕
