Oooeee, was it cold outside this morning!
In fact it was so cold that I had to ‘break out’ my winter coat, and subconsciously found myself praying for some warmth today!
This tickled me greatly, because not quite 4 months ago, I distinctly recall wondering how I was going to survive the ‘Dog Days’ of summer, and praying for some cool air!
So it made me wonder…
- Why can’t we simply enjoy what we have, when we have it???
Now, I may be wrong about this, but I feel as if its almost second nature to us, to overlook the little things that make life special, and instead focus on what we don’t have.
I also feel like we have this uncanny tendency to constantly race towards the next thing, without ‘savoring the flavor’ of the current thing!
I mean check this out…
- How old are you?
- 12 and a half!
- Fly on the Wall: Okay, what’s up with the half?!
- 12 and a half!
- I can’t wait till my kid finishes Kindergarten!
- Fly on the Wall: For real? What happened to enjoying the moments?!
- Yay, can you believe that July is only 2 months away!
- Sweeeeet! Lets ‘do’ Christmas in July!
- Fly on the Wall: Why? What happened to Thanksgiving?
- Sweeeeet! Lets ‘do’ Christmas in July!
I guess what I’m trying to say is that, in my humble opinion, life should be about ‘the moments’ because if we hurry past them, instead of trying to enjoy and preserve them, then what’s the point?
Just my 2 cents…
